Update your employee engagement with an HR cloud solution

Kasper Khyl, senior solutions specialist at SuccessFactors, gave a demonstration of a cloud-based HR product that will serve to increase employee engagement in your organisation.

The cloud-based HR solution enables the organisation to add all employee data onto it and even lets employees create public profiles, which other employees can view. This may sound a bit like social media but it proves to have huge benefits for companies with large workforces.

This 'Facebook for business' allows employees to put the following information onto these public profiles:

  • Names,
  • Job titles,
  • Work goals,
  • Contact details,
  • Seating plans – where they sit in which office,
  • Video /audio clips, and
  • Personalised analytics, which can take the form of training hours worked or sales results for each quarter – depending on the individual.

Why is this important?

Let's look at an example:

Sarah is an employee of a large, multinational organisation at the Dutch branch. She is working on an important design project and needs to get some cover images approved by Janine, who works in the Cape Town office. Unfortunately, Janine is off sick and Sarah doesn't know who she should contact to get these approved.

Different versions of this situation happen all the time. A cloud-based solution can solve the confusion and uncertainty.

Sarah can view Janine's profile and find out who works in her team, where they are based, their contact details and can listen to their audio clips so she can recognise their voices over the phone.

This solution decreases the time spent on collecting employee information and reduces anxiety for employees. It also presents them with a way to track their daily goals and to feel connected in their organisation thus increasing their engagement.

Don't waste time: start thinking about moving to the cloud today!

"I stumbled across your review of our Ethics Guide published 28 June 2012 and wish to thank you for the positive and complimentary comments made – this was a lovely surprise and most rewarding. I will certainly pass this on to all co-authors of the Guide."
