New white paper released that sets out roadmap for post-school education

Ever since the recession took hold of our economy in its vice-like grip, the focus has been on education and how we can rectify this system to ensure that our skills shortage is done away with. Government has heeded this call by publishing the White Paper for Post-School Education and Training in late January. Have a look at the rest of this article to find out more.
According to the Council for Higher Education, this white paper defines the type of post-school education and training system that government wants to create by 2030. This system will provide education and training for all those who didn’t complete school as well as those who didn’t actually attend school in the first place.
The education white paper’s main objective is to create an education system that is fair and coordinated, and has a strong tie with the workplace.
“This release of this document is a defining moment in our country’s economic evolution. The fact that there is a strong focus on competence means that the Department of Higher Education has prioritised the unemployment dilemma” said Jackie Carroll, CEO of Media Works.
