Yahoo's CEO, Marissa Mayer, has made an unexpected move by naming Jaqueline Reses the new executive vice president of people and development.
Former private equity partner, Jacqueline Reses had only two months of experience in human resources prior to the appointment.
Reses plans to revamp Yahoo's corporate culture and its financial standing by redesigning its workforce. She replaces HR head, David Windley who Mayer exchanged as part of the organisational changes ,which aim to right the struggling company.
Reses will also have to fix up Yahoo's outdated compensation structure as it is responsible for top talent leaving the organisation en mass.
Many believe that the new workforce plan will lead to more job losses. In April, the company announced its intention to make 2000 job cuts as part of their restructuring.
