1. Internet: Generation Z was born in the era of internet. Internet has always been a part of their life. If you are not on Internet then you pretty much don't exist in their eyes. Most of the points below are have the ‘internet age’ as their foundation.
2. Trigger happy: Privacy is a negligible concept. They are happy to let anyone click them anywhere. More than likely, you will be able to find most of these photographs on the web. The internet is a live scrapbook of ‘Z-ers’ lives. Just look at Facebook!
3. Facebook: They may not be able to buy a cellphone, but they are on Facebook. Some are on Facebook before they are even born as excited, expectant mothers post their uterus scans on their newsfeeds and pics of their first steps as toddlers.
4. Transparency: Me...Myself...That’s the catchphrase of this generation. Not only are they going to be open about what they think and believe, they will ask the same of you.. They demand openness and open-mindedness.
5. Unabashed: Generation Z has its moral standard. However, they are not sorry about being privileged. A message like "Save water for future generations" is completely lost on them. You have to tie this up with either concrete proof that this works or show what is in it for them. Similarly, just because you offered them the first job after college, they don't owe you anything. If anything, it is reverse. Employees will be the bosses and bosses will be employees.
6. Questions, questions: They question everything and in detail and not in order to prove a point. Forget getting them to work overtime, or even to agree to full-time work. Most of your future employees will either live in office [offices and home spaces will unite] or won’t ever visit your office at all.
7. Randomness: More than anything, randomness and arbitrariness will define Generation Z according to previous generations. Just because they behaved one way in a particular situation [excited, saddened or whatever], does not mean, they will do so the same way again in the future. The key takeaway is "there is no standard". Prepare for unpredictability.
