Day two of the IPM Conference at Sun City saw the plenary sessions jam packed with delegates. Among the speakers was Shirley Zinn, CEO of Shirley Zinn Consulting who presented the topic ‘HR Inside out’. Following on from her, Nene Molefi spoke passionately about the fact that HR needs to lead the way when it comes to social and organisational transformation.
The highlight of the day’s proceedings must sure have been the fiery rhetoric of Rasoava Rijamampianina, director of the Management Advancement Programmes at the Wits Business School. His energy and enthusiasm for his craft was clearly visible as he spoke about the World After Midnight. The World After Midnight is a concept formed by professor Eddie Obeng that posits some fifteen years ago all the rules about how to run a business, organisation or government successfully, were changed or deleted and a completely new set of Rules has been in operation ever since. Unfortunately, many of us missed this change and our systems, enterprises, education, organisations and institutions were designed yesterday and don’t fit the business landscape of today.
