UCT to adopt a non-racially determined admissions policy

Section 9 of the constitution says that:

"Everyone is equal before the law and has the right to equal protection and benefit of the law. Equality includes the full and equal enjoyment of all rights and freedoms. To promote the achievement of equality, legislative and other measures designed to protect or advance persons, or categories of persons, disadvantaged by unfair discrimination may be taken."

My interpretation of this clause is that every single South African citizen is equal in the eyes of the law, which means that every single South African citizen must be treated the same. So wouldn't the widening of selection criteria, by UCT, facilitate this right of everyone to be judged equally as if you only look at one selection criteria you'll be discriminating against all those other people who don't fit in with that criteria?

I think that the ANC youth league needs to re-read their copies of the constitution.
