ANC aims to create 6 million jobs

President Jacob Zuma said that the African National Congress (ANC) will create six million jobs through the public infrastructure project (PIP) over the next five years.

The president also announced the party will look at introducing a national minimum wage as part of the ANC’s 2014 election manifesto.

The ruling party has also promised better schools and hospitals.

According to iAfrica.com, Zuma says these work opportunities form a part of growing the economy but that the ANC is also looking at changing employment law.

“We also commit to investigating the modality for the introduction of a national minimum wage as a key component of reducing inequality,” said the president.
