The largest ICF organisation on African soil. South Africa is for the first time to have its own national chapter of the International Coaches Federation (ICF).
This move will see the national chapter become the largest one of its kind on the continent. The ICF represents more than 20,000 business and leadership coaches all over the world.
“With the formation of one large national chapter both the buyers of coaching services and coaches within South Africa are going to benefit from the high quality standards the ICF provides.” says Axel Rittershaus, currently ICF Cape Town Chapter president and new op-resident ICF South Africa.
The existing Western Cape and Gauteng chapters became sub-chapters of the national organisation. The new organisational model will simplify the creation of sub-chapters in cities and regions across the country. In terms of the national leadership Gauteng President Robert Farndell and his Cape Town counterpart Axel Rittershaus will serve as co-presidents of the South African chapter.
Amongst the additional benefits of establishing a national chapter include the ability to attend meetings and network in whichever city a member may be working at the time as well as a stronger brand as the ICF grows its presence nationally.
The creation of a national chapter is not only of benefit to its members but also to the organisations that make use of the coaches. Companies can be assured of a higher level of coach when using ICF members who have undergone not just a membership process but also professional training and a regular updating of the latest trends and movements. Hiring an ICF member or even an ICF credentialed coach simplifies the buying process.
